The Rainy Beach

Darold's favorite thing is to drive in the rain. I heard the raindrops and grabbed him to hop in the car and go for a fun drive. We ended up at a small walking trail that follows the beach. The beach in the rain is the best!! We even took some pictures!

We ended up wet, sandy, and exhilerated running up and down the beach and even hiking up a small hill to overlook the beach!

Gettin ready for CHRISTMAS!!

I think that this is the first Christmas that I have actually been really GIDDY about Christmas! We went to Utah in November for Darold's brother's wedding in Logan, and the day that we were supposed to leave to go back to warm and sunny California....it SNOWED!!!!

Our poor Car!! I don't think it knew what to come of all this freezing white stuff stuck everywhere!

This is also the first year that not only have I been listening and enjoying Christmas music and movies, but I've been listening to it since before Thanksgiving!! I used to get frustrated and upset at people who did that. Haha...Now I'm one of them!! This is also the first time that we're not in boxes moving in and getting settled, or in boxes getting ready to move. We are actually able to sit back and enjoy the holidays. We even got a real tree!! It smells so fantastic! This is also the first time that I got to set up my nativity set that my mom made for me years ago! (You can see it in the picture below on the book shelf under the widow.)

Labor Day

All Darold wanted for his birthday was to go home and suprise his family at their annual canoeing trip. We had so much fun with pretty much no sleep. We travelled down Sunday night, got up Monday morning to go to the lake, played all day and travelled home Monday night to be back to work on Tues!! Woo Hoo was it worth it!!!

Here's a few pics:

I know it's a little late, but what'd you do for Labor Day this year?

I saw this on my friends blog and thought it would be fun to do, tagged or not! Enjoy Ü

Let's take a trip down Memory Lane....Do you remember when?

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember(it can involve the family or even my husband too)!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you.

3. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all!

4. Consider this a Tag: if you've read it, you have to do it!

Celebrating our first wedding anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, so we (meaning Tine) have decided to list what we have learned in the last 12 months.

Dario:

1. Explain what you're doing fully and make sure she understands
2. Don't forget to call back when she calls and you can't get to the phone right away
3. Schedule in extra time to get ready and you still will be late
4. Don't expect to go to sleep when you want to. She will torture you until you do what she needs done.

Tine:

1. Nobody will clean up if you don't do it
2. Men really don't like to put the toilet seat down
3. Del Taco becomes a luxury on a budget
4. Just because you have two incomes doesn't mean you make more money
5. "Mine" had been replaced by "ours"
6. Your spouse isn't the only one making stupid mistakes
7. Take pictures
8. Crying is ok sometimes
9. Clothes don't clean themselves, no matter how often you step over them
10. Celebrating your first anniversary doesn't make you an old married couple! You can always be newlyweds! (even a lifetime is nothin compared to eternity!!!!)

Going for a Step Stool, Leaving With the Store!

My kitchen is very difficult to organize because our cabinets are really tall..all the way to the ceiling and I can't reach so well without a step stool, which we haven't had the money for. So we broke down and decided to go get one. I found the exact one I wanted and it was only $15! I was very excited! Then Dario said that we needed to fix the hose since the attachment squirter...thing.... doesn't quite fit properly, so we went to the garden area. While he looked for what he needed, I glanced at the other stuff they had going on right behind me. What do I see?? CLEARANCE!!! WHOO HOO!!! We've been dying to put chairs outside with a cute little table so we can enjoy our little yard and garden but they've always been so expensive. We decided to get these fantastic chairs for more than half off (about $10 a fanstastic steal.) The only problem is the fact that they were quite big...almost didn't fit in the car. But I had faith in my wonderful husband. He then told me that he used to make fun of people for doing what we did. I figured it was ok since just about a year and a half ago we had to transport my twin bed on top of our car...ghetto style hahahaha Oh Well! What can ya do??

Cub Scout Day Camp

All this week we've been involved with helping our cub scouts at a week long day camp. Loads of fun, but very tiring. I've actually gone to bed before it got completely dark outside...twice this week. Here's a couple pictures!

Fond Farewell

Today we said goodbye to ol' blue! We are very grateful that it got us up here in one piece and even stuck around to enjoy the scenery for a bit. The time, however, has come to just walk away.

About 2 weeks ago, Darold went mountain biking at Laguna Seca with a couple friends and was on his way home.....many times. The poor car had decided that it had gone far enough without a break. So it decided to make several breaks. Fortunately, they were on a road that Darold was able to pull over far enough not to get himself or the car hit. At that point we realized that ol' blue was due for retirement where it could donate part of itself to newer, younger cars so they can go on living for a bit more.

Thank you ol' blue for getting us to where we needed to go...even if it took a bit longer at the end. You'll be missed....a little.

7:26 am

Three days last week, my eyes popped open to the warmth of the rising sun. I really wasn't the happiest person to be woken up. I groggily opened my eyes, rolled over and checked my phone to see if it was even remotely time for me to actually have to get up. No. Not once was it. My husband, however, was already wide awake. He, I'm sure, was not woken by the sun. He's just perky like that. It was 7:26 am. His body just naturally tells him it's time to be awake. He was more awake and wanting to have conversation on those days. My mind doesn't work like that. My mind has a great desire to wake up on it's own, and if it wakes up well enough, then it will initiate my brain to converse. Is that selfish of me??

THE belt

So....Darold needed a new belt. Acutally, he had "needed" one since before we started dating (mostly because I disapproved of the emblem of the mudflap girl on his old one). The only problem with easy shopping is that he could never find a great belt that fit him right. Since moving to our new area, we are not so familiar with knowing where the cool belt stores were and decided to wait on the shopping.

Tonght I realized that I needed to buy a new razor and decided to drag D to Target. Upon entering the store I spotted a cute bag and stopped to admire for a moment. Being instantly bored, D glanced at my adorable find, gave it the nodding ok approval, and walked past it.....right to the womens belts. Immediately, his eyes glued onto a zebra print belt, found his size, and tried it on. Of course he fell in love with it and gave me the "I gotta have it" expression. I said, "Ok, as long as it keeps you happy while I browse the cosmetic dept." I think he actually pranced through the store like a kid with his first toy.

My husband now owns his first girly belt. Funny thing is that I really like the belt and he might find it missing one of these days.

Here we are!!

Well, seeing that this is our first blog together, we should probably introduce ourselves. My name is Christine (hence where Tine came from) and my husband is Darold (nicknamed Dario). I was introduced to Darold by his brother, whom I happened to meet right after I moved into the area. I had noticed an "air ride truck" and laughed since I had never seen one in person before. He mentioned that Darold loved to bag trucks and actually was working on one in their garage and asked if I wanted to go check it out one day. I went a couple of days later, when D was home, saw him walk by and instantly was hooked! (I don't think he even noticed I was there.) The only other times I saw him were once when a group of us went camping and he happened to go, and when I helped move his parents and he rode back in the same car I did. I moved away from the immediate area and didn't see him again for about 2 years. We reconnected at a Labor Day BBQ/Swim party after I flirted like crazy to get his attention....which worked. We played pool games until the sun went down then hung out in the hot tub for 4 hours just talking and laughing. We hung out at parks in the middle of the night playing night games with friends, and he called me everynight I was on vacation visiting my parents. After that, we officially hooked up, and he finally kissed me!! We got married on July 14, 2007 in San Diego.

I am a massage therapist and Darold gets to play with bikes, doing the thing he loves, for his job. He owns a BMX bike, mtn bike and a fixed gear, riding them pretty equally. I've been doing massage for a little over a year now and work at a fantasic resort near my house. We live in a cute little 2 bedroom house not far from the beach where we enjoy going on driving expeditions everywhere, biking to and from D's work, and entertaining everyone who comes to visit.

Someday, since everyone would like to know, we'll begin our restless nights of parenthood, but not now. We are just enjoying being together and having fun!
